When a new machine is not enough

Sometimes what is needed is not a new machine, but a new perspective.
Thanks to the input analysis SKEN we discovered with one client that the real problem was not the technology, but the organisation of the work.
A few adjustments were enough to speed up production - without the need for a large investment.

Where we start - at SKEN

A client approached us with a request for a new single-purpose machine.
But we didn't start by designing the device, but production analysis.
SKEN examines the entire process - from material flow to work organisation.

The problem was elsewhere

The analysis has shown that the technology is working properly.
Unnecessary transfers, continuity of activities and work schedules were a hindrance to efficiency.
So it was enough to change a few habits - and the process accelerated, without the need for a new machine.

Result:

  • higher production speed,

  • lower operating costs,

  • happier workers.

Analysis that saves

Similar situations are not exceptional.
At SEMA, we use SKEN for every project because it often reveals more than a new machine could.

The managing director talks about this experience Martin Piruch in an interview for the magazine Positive.
